*** CALL TO ACTION - Stop the Spending! ***

You've heard it a million times but now actually is the time act.  Forward this information quickly in emails:  Contact congress to stop the spending! More Obama spending proposals are due out this week and we simply cannot stand for it any more.  PLEASE act as soon as possible, a lot of damage is happening very quickly: http://blog.heritage.org/2009/03/24/bush-deficit-vs-obama-deficit-in-pictures/

I did it and you can too.  Here is the fax I sent to these 9 Colorado officials because time is of the essance.  I used a service to simplify the process and it cost me 1 buck for each fax.  Not too bad and goes to support a good cause and it was really easy. It was the best 9 bucks I've ever spent! :-) If you want to save time, copy the text I sent below and Go to http://www.conservativeoutpost.com/campaign/cta/stop_spending Follow the instructions.  Of course you can contact your congressmen for free but this service worked very well and saves a lot of time if you want to reach more than one by fax which is pretty important to do now due to how quickly Obama is moving.  We need to move JUST as quickly!

The Honorable Ken Salazar (US Senate, D, CO)
The Honorable Mark Udall (US Senate, D, CO)
The Honorable Mike Coffman (US House of Representatives, R, CO)
The Honorable Diana DeGette (US House of Representatives, D, CO)
The Honorable Doug Lamborn (US House of Representatives, R, CO)
The Honorable Betsy Markey (US House of Representatives, D, CO)
The Honorable Ed Perlmutter (US House of Representatives, D, CO)
The Honorable Jared Polis (US House of Representatives, D, CO)
The Honorable John Salazar (US House of Representatives, D, CO)

FAX TEXT:

We can NO LONGER stand for this spending and bailout agenda.  Please draft alternative proposals that address the root problems and quickly disable the ability of bankers in Washington to continue to bail out other bankers and big business using our tax dollars to strike deals.

The secrecy of 1) where our money is going, 2) who is going to get it and 3) how much more is needed - is completely disgusting. One needs only to ask ONE of the questions above to trigger an EYE ROLL from our President and his head banker -  and to tell us we are ON TO SOMETHING and you in the congress know it!   Furthermore, President Obama is selling his new budget proposal as a solution to the current economic crisis.  How could any of you stand and allow this BULL to even be suggested!

This is disgusting and we demand TRUE government reform to begin now by 1) blocking any more spending and bailout proposals, 2) draft new SPECIFIC proposals to address the problems under current law, 3) draft new proposals to address our needs for health care solutions through medical insurance reform, 4) drop and reform broken programs before spending another DIME and 5) SPEAK UP loudly and firmly about the BULL that is being fed to the American People!

Please tell President Obama that WE are the PEOPLE, NOT THE SHEEPLE and you ALL work for us.  Thanks to all who have done well to hold strong and do not give in. We support you and know you are working hard to fight the change that this country cannot afford.

Time to Get Activated!

I can't just sit here and do nothing anymore...  Can you?

I am interested in helping with activism efforts that will leverage the "Truth and Logic Forces - the TLF ;-)" we have right here on TH.  If you know of such efforts - a hub  of sorts here on TH - to organize online efforts to edify people about the true state of our country to help bring about true government reform, please let me know, I'd like to join.  Otherwise, I'd like to create such a hub right here.

Many of the TH'ers I see blogging  and commenting here are more knowledgeable and understand the problems going on right now with our country much better than I do and much better than other sites I've reviewed.  However, we need more focused efforts that leverage these knowledge, energy and technical assets we have right here on TH to help create the shift toward true government reform.  Please comment here with ideas for real activism to help STOP THE SPENDING and to get our voices heard in Washington right away.

Online campaigns and "calls to action" can be very powerful movements. I have joined online efforts for other causes and I witnessed the power of them (as did you) during Obama's presidential campaign.   Those who are truly ready to start responding to conservative calls to action that can be executed directly from your computer, please comment below with your interest level, ideas and suggestions.  Please also comment on where to look here on TH for existing efforts and groups that are actually doing something right now to help.

In the meantime:

*** Immediate Action Needed ***

http://www.conservativeoutpost.com/outpost_campaigns
can help TODAY to make our voices heard regarding the spending proposals that are about to start up AGAIN THIS WEEK.  Please send this link to all who are willing to help NOW.   This is really critical so I suggest using the "Fax Congress" feature which I plan to use today.

See my post "Free or Owned" for a logical argument that you can send people who may have even supported Obama in the election but are now feeling the pain.   Discouraging support for his budget and future bailouts is essential right away to prevent the reaching the point of no return for our country.

Send your Tea Bag, attend your local Tea Party demonstrations, call, write and say NO NO NO to congress.

Get into the discussions outside of  TH and conservative forums.  ALWAYs lead with truth and respect and do not engage in forum battles to win arguments.  Do not respond to a critic with anything but respect and truth no matter how ugly they get.  Leave your comments on forums that will cause people to THINK and simply then simply leave the truth alone there to do its work in the heart and minds of people who are starting to wake up.  Help them to full consciousness of the matters and nothing more.  Many people are starting to wake up!

Please help to edify those you know with truth, logic and respect that will lead to government reform in the future.  This is the campaign to bring government reform - one by one - in our own social, work and family networks.

Leave comments here for more suggestions for immediate actions we can all take to increase the effective of our individual and group efforts.

***  Encouragement To Act ***

Please take the risk and join a campaign of  truth, logic and respect.  To help someone understand our country's true state is a gift and act of service and  the  truth will never let you down... it WORKS.  You just have to be willing to take a risk.   Even those who supported Obama will be willing to hear the truth if its presented with respect and logic.   Most you TH'ers are the perfect people to deliver this message to those who are outside of the TH and conservative community.   PLEASE consider joining a more focused effort to reach others and share your knowledge to help bring about true government reform that will eventually support the true mandate of The People.

Free or Owned?

In the context of the recent loss of another of Obama's treasury staff, I came across and read this article.  It is worth the long read (and the bad words, I'm really sorry about that):

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/26793903/the_big_takeover

The Bush/Obama plan for dealing with our economy is more than disgusting!   True government reform is the only answer but that will only happen if the truth about the situation is completely exposed and understood. This is happening slowly I believe but we really need to take a personal stand.   As long we stand for these bailouts, we are owned.  Or perhaps it is  more accurate to say our government is owned by the banks they are bailing out and we, the tax payers, are being fed to the fat cats.  The article above explains this very well.

Believe me, this vote about to happen in congress regarding Obama's so called "budget" is going to fuel the problem.  If not, you would not see such secrecy in FED regarding where our bailout money is going.  You would see assurances from Obama regarding the situation and real solutions and not more "bankers bailing out bankers".   Instead we are hearing that this next budget proposal is required to address our failing economy.   If that is true - and why wouldn't be true - this announcement should scare the heck out of you.  If you have taken the time to read the article above - it should really scare the heck out of you.   It does me.

This is a turning point in our country's history for many reasons.  Please stand on the side of the people who want our country back under law, not under government, with freedoms to believe what we wish and even not to believe if we wish. The government is passing laws to increase the power of government and not to secure the freedom of American people.  If you have not yet awakened to this reality, now is the time.   We have to understand this and act as this administration is pushing into law more government power faster than any administration has seen.

Please understand that alternative proposals do NOT mean we will not help people in need, not improve education, not improve health care and not improve the environment.  There are other ways to do all of these things than are about to be proposed in Obama's plan.  You are being led to believe that there are no other ways and that the economc crisis dictate's Obama's actions.  And note the speed at which he is moving.  Listen carefully to Obama and listen to other proposals and THINK.  Stimulus has already been committed.   This budget is not about stimulus any more and is not about failures of Bush any more.  Do you really want to be treated this way?  Do you really want to hand over power for our education, health care and environment to the same government that has chosen to "roll its eyes" at you?   Please read the ariticle to which I refer above.

America is a great country for special reasons that are not celebrated enough and we have taken our freedoms for granted.   Our freedoms are not granted, but rather voted upon.  We control the direction of our country - not the government, but government has convinced us otherwise.  Please help take back your country.

Please share this post quickly with as many of your  friends, family  and neighbors as possible.

Moderates: The Contradiction of Voting for Obama

Many of my moderate friends, neighbors and extended family believe there are compelling reasons to vote for Barack Obama including the fact that he comes across as fairly moderate on issues. Obama's style and positions against the war along with his accusations of a failed Bush administration during disastrous economic conditions are tempting many moderates and independent voters to think twice before casting their  traditional votes. I now believe however there is a conflict for fiscally minded voters to resolve before November 4th if they plan to vote for Obama.

Until recently, the contradiction that moderate voters face has not been so obvious. Obama seems moderate when he addresses us and talks about his positions. His campaign seems to have adequately addressed many questions we've had about his left leaning tendencies. Many are comfortable, believing his spending agenda will not hurt America. But now there is new information that promises to pose more than just a vague conflict; These facts create a full-on compromise of fiscal values for moderate voters.

For most of us, the middle isn’t a place where we, from election to election, simply change our values. Of course not. Most of us would not simply toss our fiscal values out the window in the pursuit of other ideals at stake in an election. For example, it is a complete contradiction and compromise of my values to say “I will give up my fiscal values this time in order to fix the government spending problems”. Wait... What? No, we would not do this intentionally, but I believe this is exactly what is happening with many voters. They don't realize the contradiction because Obama a) exposes his compassion and empathy rather than his true ideology and b) he has not been truthful about his extreme social agenda.

The public record of Obama's voting history is available for anyone to review but this has not changed the minds of some who believe Obama will shift more to the middle and will do things differently as president. But, what is much more concerning to me are the records that have not been available for public review until recently and this is where I become convicted:

During the primaries and earlier this summer concerns were raised about the strong endorsements for Barack Obama coming from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the DSA’s “New Party”. It is not a problem nor unexpected that these organizations would endorse Obama (of course they will support the democratic nominee); The problem is that Obama denied he was ever a member of the DSA’s socialist New Party. But, according to this New Party documentation (and many other references and articles NOW available) Obama was injected by the New Party into the senatorial race in 1996 (which he won) as an existing member of the New Party:

http://web.archive.org/web/20010306031216/www.newparty.org/up9610.html

“Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).”

Why wasn’t this record available for public review before now? It was, until it was removed from public servers. However, this information and much much more had already been archived in Google’s history databases before the New Party records were removed from public servers. This October, Google re-released its history archives as a celebration of Google’s 10th birthday. Many documents and links have resurfaced in the last 2 weeks that seem to indicate Obama was a member of the DSA’s New Party. The people who discovered the new information on the web quickly alerted others. Searches started turning up all kinds of interesting history including information that shows how closely the New Party and ACORN organizations worked together in those days to achieve success in the elections in which New Party members were running.

This link will allow you to search the old archives yourself: http://www.google.com/search2001.html as long as the archives remain available from Google. Don't rely on this or similar posts for the facts, do the research for yourself and you will find the same archived records. You may may need to select the "view old internet archive" option to see the pages.

Can these links and records be removed from Google's history databases as well?  I’m not sure, but Google could remove access to the archives. Of course all the relevant data that has been unearthed about all the candidates and issues of this election have no doubt been backed up by many many people by now.

Do democrats care? Probably not.

Then who cares? The fiscally and socially moderate and independent voters who think Obama is moderate and voters who believed the campaign was truthful regarding this important and pivotal ideology of Barack Obama. We can only assume that those who covered up this history must also believe that this proof of Obama's ideology would not be good for his political career. If only Obama had demonstrated a shift to the middle in his record, then we might believe he has left behind his extreme social agenda. But there is no shift to the middle to go on. With the increase in evidence recently and enough discussion, it becomes more and more difficult for a moderate voter to resolve the conflict of fiscal matters and avoid the contradiction of voting for Obama.

I have shared my thoughts and what I have learned with my middle-minded friends. Some have found this information helpful for making a decision in November. Others are less impacted. The good news is this - in America we get to decide. But we need to vote with careful consideration on how to keep those very freedoms well represented in our government; We vote in good faith that the president and the members the congress, the senate and the supreme court will put forward, at the very least, their basic ideology and the reasons for their beliefs. At least we voters try very hard to gain that perspective as best we can before we vote in a process that is often less than forthright.

But isn't McCain just 'more of the same'? No. McCain will uphold fiscal conservative values and maintain strong national security but differs from Bush in many matters ranging from global warming, his views on torture, stem cell research and energy alternatives. What we can be sure of in casting a vote for McCain is that he is much more fiscally and socially centric than Barack Obama - much more so than we even realized just 2 weeks ago.
